While watching “Africa. Blood and Beauty” I experienced very strong and unexpected sensations. I was struck by the graceful insights of the camera that managed to be unseen, covering with stiffness, but always humane passions, hopes and fears of these peoples. You can imagine how much effort and patience it cost to gain their trust and capture the life moments truly hidden from strangers. The result is thrilling and fascinating. I am indebted to the director for the experience that I have acquired over the two hours.

Claudie Ossard and Chris Bolzli, once working on a very beautiful film "Pina", and this time looked up at Yastrzhembskiy’s film, and it has paid off.

I wish the team every success with their new projects.

I loved the clever move of listing the tribes at the end of the film!

I was lucky enough to accompany the crew during filming in Ethiopia, and it is unforgettable experience. I can not say exactly what I like about Africa, but I understand that I touched very deeply. What we have hidden deep inside - is exposed in Africa. It's like psychoanalysis, Africa brings out from us something that we have forgotten, that we have deep inside.

«Sensations d'autrefois ...»
Gorgeous . Beautiful .It is extraordinarily well filmed and edited. It seems that you are captured and live inside the film. It's awesome. I’ve learned a lot, and it’s like I’ve had some previous experience. I believe that this is delicate and intelligent at the same time, I would say - a harmonious film. It spreads clarity. And besides, you get a lot of knowledge.

On thematic channels in France they often show films about animals or individual tribes, but here the African realities have been deeply studied. The director speaks about men and women, about the myths in different tribes.

And yet, one of the finest points of this film lies in the fact that it was able to show the faces of human nature, but from different angles, through particular characters, and not just geographically. Thus, the author achieved a comprehensive vision that I deeply appreciate. Because ultimately it's a film about the people - and this is the most important.

You feel the presence of the author, and it gives the film its own charm. There is no objectivity. It is evident that he loves Africa, the people he films, and it has its own charm too.

Moreover, people will go to watch this film, because they know that it was created by an intellectual.
Due to particular approach of the author, it turned out to be a film, not just a documentary.

- If you had to choose in which tribe to be born, what would you choose?

- The tribe where Sergey would live, in order to talk to him about the film and his life.

About the film " Africa: Blood and Beauty" , Paris, 23.02.2012 "
In my opinion, the film is very beautiful. The director manages to capture the beauty of Africa and especially to feel its rhythm. As Ingmar Bergman loved to repeat , " the protagonist of any film is music ," and the author was able to find for this central figure a worthy place. This music, these rhythms captivate us - and it is beautiful, despite the fact that sometimes there are shown a bit more brutal rituals than we are accustomed to see. There is place for love. All this is very well felt in the film.

While watching the film, I’ve learned a lot about the traditions of these small tribes, which I previously had no idea of. My thoughts of Africa was based on such films as "Mogambo" with Ava Gardner.

Absolutely in films about Africa you could hear tom-toms. But in this film you feel the author's desire to show the everyday life in this film, what happens very rarely.

- If you had to choose in which tribe to be born, what would you choose?

- Where the most beautiful women live.

Many thanks for your programme, which of all programs dedicated to travel and the countries of the world, stands out as the most professional. I always watch them online with a big pleasure. Even at school where I work, I hold hold a series of classroom hours for my pupils on the subject about minor peoples of Russia. I plan to use your documentary if you do not mind .
I would like to wish continued success to you and your crew in this field. The benefits of it are huge !
